TLA Identifier Assignments
--------------------------
TLA Identifiers are defined in [RFC2374] and are assigned from the Format
Prefix (FP) 001 (binary) in [RFC2373].
TLA ID assignments are listed below.
IPv6 Prefix FP TLA Binary Value TLA Hex Assignment Reference
----------- --- ---------------- ------- --------------------------- ---------
2000::/16 001 0 0000 0000 0000 0x0000 Reserved

3FFF::/16 001 1 1111 1111 1111 0x1FFF Reserved
Note: Hex values are right justified.
All TLA ID values not listed above are reserved.
Sub-TLA Identifier Assignments
------------------------------
Sub-TLA Identifiers are defined in [RFC2450] and are assigned out of
TLA ID 0x0001. Note that use of the Reserved field to create the Sub-TLA
field is specific to TLA ID 0x0001. It does not affect any other TLA ID.

As specified in [RFC2450], Sub-TLA ID assignments are done in blocks.
The initial Sub-TLA ID assignments to IP address registries are in blocks
of 64 Sub-TLA IDs. These assignments are listed below.

2001:FE00::/23 1111 111X XXXX X (future assignment)
Where "X" indicates "0" or "1".
All other Sub-TLA ID values not listed above are reserved.
When an RIR is nearing complete allocation of all of the Sub-TLA IDs in its
block(s), it can request that the IANA provide another block.
The block of Sub-TLA IDs assigned to the IANA (i.e., 2001:0000::/23
is for assignment for testing and experimental usage to support activities
such as the 6bone, and for new approaches like exchanges.
* For possible future allocation to RIPE NCC.
** Per [RFC3849], the 2001:DB8::/32 prefix has been assigned as
a NON-ROUTABLE range to be used for documentation purposes.
